Pricing & Funded Childcare

Clear, straightforward childcare costs

We want our fees to be easy to understand, with flexible sessions to suit different family routines. Spinney Pre-School is open Monday to Friday during term time, with morning, afternoon and all-day sessions available for children aged 2 to 4.

Our fees

For children attending paid sessions, our fee is:

£6.00 per hour

Fees are paid two weeks in advance and help cover staffing, resources and the day-to-day running of the pre-school.

We also ask for a £1 per week snack contribution, which is paid termly.

If your child attends an all-day funded session, you can extend collection from 2.35pm to 3.00pm for £3 per day.

Funded childcare

Help with the cost of early education

Spinney Pre-School can provide government-funded early education for eligible children.

Our prospectus currently covers funded places for 2-year-olds, 3- and 4-year-olds, including eligible 30-hour funded childcare. Funding can be used towards your child’s sessions with us, subject to eligibility and availability.

If you’re unsure what support your family may be entitled to, speak to Guilia or Dan and they can help you understand the next steps.

You can also check your eligibility through the Government’s Childcare Choices service.

What’s included?

Your child’s time at Spinney includes much more than simply attending a session.

Children have access to a wide range of play and learning experiences across the Early Years Foundation Stage, including creative activities, stories, songs, role play, physical play, early maths, communication and language activities and opportunities to explore the world around them.

Breakfast is available each morning, with snacks provided during morning and afternoon sessions.

Paying your fees

Fees are payable two weeks in advance.

If your child is absent because of illness, holidays or another reason, fees remain payable because their place continues to be reserved and the pre-school’s running costs remain the same.

If your circumstances change or you’re having difficulty with payments, please speak to us as early as possible.

Not sure which sessions are right for you?

Every family’s routine is different, so we’re happy to talk through the options with you.

Tell us your child’s age, the days you’re interested in and whether you expect to use funded childcare. We’ll explain what’s available and help you work out the sessions that best suit your family.

Questions parents often ask

What age children do you accept?

Spinney Pre-School in Harlow Essex provides care and early education for children aged 2 to 4 years.

What are your opening hours?

We’re open Monday to Friday during term time. Morning sessions run from 8.35am to 11.35am, afternoon sessions from 12.00pm to 3.00pm, and all-day sessions are also available.

Do you offer funded childcare places?

Yes. Spinney can claim government funding for eligible 2-year-olds and 3- and 4-year-olds, including eligible 30-hour funded places. We can help you understand what funding may be available for your child.

How much does pre-school cost?

The current stated fee is £6.00 per hour for paid sessions, with a £1 per week snack contribution. Families using funded all-day hours can also pay an additional £3 per day for collection at 3pm. I’d make sure these figures are checked with Spinney before publishing, as fees can change.

Will my child have a key person?

Yes. Every child is allocated a key person who gets to know their interests, needs and development and works closely with their family throughout their time at Spinney.

Can you support children with additional needs?

Yes. The setting has SENCO responsibilities within the team and works with families, schools and other professionals. Ofsted found that children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, children who speak English as an additional language and children receiving additional funding make good progress.
